Just Two Air Force Academy Cadet StoriesEvery cadet at the US Air Force Academy has a story about what brought them to this place, and what the Academy and the United States Air Force mean to them. Wings of Honor will follow a number of cadets; you'll get to see their stories for yourself. Stories such as these: “Jump”C1C Cindy Nieves loves to jump out of airplanes, performing free-fall aerobatics and landing on a dime as a member of the Academy’s intercollegiate Wings of Blue skydiving team. She was recently featured in Latina Style magazine and has come to realize in a powerful way the opportunities and responsibilities of being a role model for other young Latinas. “Redemption”C1C Beau Tresemer gave in to temptation and had a couple of beers with a buddy - both were underage. He was busted and faced expulsion. He was spared due to his record as an accomplished leader and was placed on probation, confined to the Academy and busted down to the lowest rank possible. In addition to a suspenseful appearance before the Academy’s commandant, he had to put on his dress blues and address his entire squadron. Tresemer is constantly aware of the second chance afforded him and is determined to rise above his breach of trust and earn back the respect of his squadron. Movie Follows USAFA Tiger 10 SquadronOur movie will follow the cadets of the Tiger 10 squadron as they progress through the year, through militiary training, through academics and athletics, through character development. Wings of Honor has been allowed unprecedented access “behind the scenes” at the Academy, recording the highs and lows of the lives of a group of extraordinary students. Nearly all the cadets were top achievers in their high schools and could easily have attended other excellent colleges – at the USAFA they now compete with other top students from their own classes. It can be a humbling experience. Accepting attendance at the Air Force Academy means accepting a way of life far different and vastly more challenging than most people will ever experience.
