Just Two Air Force Academy Cadet Stories

Every cadet at the US Air Force Academy has a story about what brought them to this place, and what the Academy and the United States Air Force mean to them. Wings of Honor will follow a number of cadets; you'll get to see their stories for yourself. Stories such as these:

“Passion”

C4C John Dunn has discovered a passion for physics since he learned in class that the limits in aeronautic designs of aircraft are dependent on the composition and strength of the materials used to build them. Now he’s all over it. The Academy’s engineering and science programs are among the best in the nation. He’ll be challenged to make the grade.

“Desire”

C4C Alyson Busch knew at the age of 10, riding in a transport plane, peering through an observation bubble during takeoff and landing that she wanted to fly - even become an astronaut. She is an Air Force brat, recruited as a basketball player. There’s no place else she’d rather be. She loves the military lifestyle and wants to “fly heavy,” i.e. larger aircraft.

Movie Follows USAFA Tiger 10 Squadron

Our movie will follow the cadets of the Tiger 10 squadron as they progress through the year, through militiary training, through academics and athletics, through character development. Wings of Honor has been allowed unprecedented access “behind the scenes” at the Academy, recording the highs and lows of the lives of a group of extraordinary students.

Nearly all the cadets were top achievers in their high schools and could easily have attended other excellent colleges – at the USAFA they now compete with other top students from their own classes. It can be a humbling experience. Accepting attendance at the Air Force Academy means accepting a way of life far different and vastly more challenging than most people will ever experience.
